Having to deal with fame and fans all the time leaves me way little time to write. But I do have a new non-Apex piece up at The Fix. It’s a review of Cemetery Dance #59. Nobody was reviewing Cemetery Dance for them, which I thought a shame. So I contacted Eugie Foster and decided [...]

Millennicon turned out to be a strange convention. When I go to a convention, I have certain…expectations. In a way, this convention failed to meet these expectations.
The convention was way smaller than I expected. I heard reports that attendance was around 400, but for the most part, I kept seeing the same 40 or 50 [...]

Don’t forget that I’ll be at Milliennicon this weekend, most of it at the Apex table in the dealers room. Come see me, but don’t be surprised if I put the hard-sale on you to buy something.
During the after hours, I will be drinking white wine and trying to stay out of trouble.

That’s not a complaint. It’s nice having people wishing you a ‘Happy Birthday.’
Naturally, when asked what I wanted for my birthday, I answer “For you to buy [...]

Dear Architecture Monthly,
Yes, I’m looking at you, the issue from December, 1999. You have found a permanent home in the far-right bathroom stall on the floor of my employers. I have something to say to you.
I will not touch you.
While I can’t be sure you’ve been in the same stall since 1999, I do know [...]

In two weeks I’ll be taking a much needed break from real life and spending a weekend at Millennicon in Cincinnati, OH (Mar 20-22). The Guest of Honor is the John Scalzi. I’ve been looking forward to meeting Mr. Scalzi…hopefully our paths will cross.
I’m not attending in any official guest compacity. My station will be [...]
